ABOUT

We are so happy that you found us! This blog is dedicated to connecting with people who have young children that have been diagnosed with Celiac.
Changing from a "traditional" diet to a gluten free diet can be overwhelming for children and their parents and we hope our blog will give you some valuable resources and connections.
One very important resource for the child is our new book:

Cecil Celiac is Sleeping in Gabe's Gut!

Hi, Gabe's Yaya here. When I heard that Gabe was diagnosed at age three with Celiac and would now have to live gluten-free for the rest of his life, I felt compelled to do something to help. I wrote a book geared specifically to him. It taught Gabe that living gluten free can be fun. He has an adventure now with everything he eats. "Is Glover Gluten hiding in this food?" he asks each time he eats. He is discovering what he can eat by focusing on "winning" at the game of hide and seek, instead of crying about not being able to eat what his friends and classmates are eating. My daughter told me that the change in his attitude was miraculous from the moment she read him the book! At the age of three, Gabe was able to verbally, visually and especially emotionally better understand his condition which in turn helped his health to improve dramatically.

Gabe's specialist was instrumental in giving encouragement to publish this book and has given his full recommendation. Here is an excerpt from a letter from Dr. Stanley A. Cohen, MD at the Children’s Center for Digestive Health Care in Atlanta, GA:

“I was most excited to see the book that you have created to instruct Gabe and his family about gluten and how you have made that so child friendly that it reinforces the concepts of celiac disease and good care. I truly hope you get this published. I am sure that my colleagues and I can recommend it to multiple patients around the country with those families finding it very useful and important. I congratulate you again on an exceptional job."

Our goal is to get this book into the hands of parents with young children that have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease immediately after they are diagnosed. We know that this book could have a dramatic effect by bringing emotional healing and the vital education needed for the very young child suffering from Celiac as well as for their family, as it did for Gabe and his family.
